Foster Care Services
Home of Relative Foster Care: Unity provides services to children in the homes of family members who have volunteered to care for grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whose biological parents are unable to do so. Eligibility is limited to referrrals from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Traditional Foster Care: Unity recruits and trains caring persons to become licensed foster parents to provide nurturing, day-to-day care for abused/neglected children whose own relatives cannot care for them. Eligibility is limited to referrrals from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Conversion Adoptions: Unity encourages foster parents to adopt children in their care who are unable to return to their natural parents. Eligibility is limited to: those foster children designated by Juvinile Court as being eligible for adoption.
Parenting Training Services
Skills training for parents to structure methods for nurturing, caring and coping with behaviors of children at each developmental stage. Eligibility is limited to: those natural parents of the foster children Unity for whom Unity provides services
Harmony Village Is a supportive transitional housing program that provides safe, pleasant housing for homeless teens/young adults and their children and pregnant/parenting teens and their children. Eligibility criteria are:
Focus Home I & II Are permanent housing programs for special populations: families or individuals headed by homeless disabled and/or special needs individuals. Eligibility criteria are:
Chicago Public Schools Counseling & Training Services
Unity provides unique and effective services to children/youth and thier families in Chicago Public Schools. Eligibility criteria are:
Project Ignite Is the Unity housing and social services program for males, females and families headed by youth, 18-24, who are living with HIV/AIDS. Youth receive stable housing, linkage to medical treatment, linkage to other mainstream resources, case management, counseling, life skills training, education employment preparation training, substance abuse education, etc. Eligibility criteria are:
